1. The World’s Second Largest Smartphone Market – India


According to data from Canalys, China is the largest player in the global smartphone market, and the second largest smartphone market is India.

India’s smartphone market sharply surpassed Q2 in 2017, reaching 40 million units Q3 in 2017. Among those units, Samsung Electronics has 9.4 million units and Xiaomi has 9.2 million units. The top five companies, Samsung Electronics / Xiaomi / Vivo / Oppo / Lenovo, have continued to grow rapidly, accounting for nearly half of the total market.

What stands out is the increase of Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo. You can see how much it has increased from the same period last year by simply comparing the graphs.

India’s smartphone market is booming in terms of LTE growth compared to low smartphone penetration rates. In this situation, Xiaomi is showing strong growth in the low-end market. According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun’s Weibo account post, Xiaomi has shipped 10 million smartphones in October, and the sales target of 90 million units this year is expected to be possible. In this situation, Xiaomi could become India’s largest smartphone brand.

Speaking of Xiaomi, the event of Xiaomi will be held in India on November the 2nd to launch the new smartphone series, which could be the Mi Note 3 and Mi Mix 2.

2. iPhone X Sold Out in 10 Minutes

iPhone sales in US and UK was sold out in 10 minutes, and the initial volume is already out of stock. There is news that iPhone X’s production has been decided to double by brisk booking sales.
